2021 is a special year for SLRA as it marks our 30th anniversary. From our beginnings as a small association of community groups sorting asylum seekers and refugees in Merton in 1991, our amazing organisation has seen many changes but has consistently provided the care, advice and support that vulnerable migrants across South West London have needed.
There have been huge challenges along the way but SLRA has been lucky to have the support of the local community, fantastic volunteers and a great staff team over the years. We know that so many individuals, families and young people are now settled and thriving thanks to the support they received from SLRA when they needed it most.
“Thank you all at SLRA for your support thoughtfulness and kindness”
Women who receives casework, is a community leader and an active member of the women’s group
We’ll be celebrating of course – with a party in the garden in early September and we’ll be tweeting reactions of SLRA staff, volunteers and clients past and present to this amazing 30 years milestone.
“I wish SLRA life for a happy 100 years! This is a common birthday wish in my culture. The organisation and staff are amazing. You know that they will do the best thing for everyone who asked for help.”
